How to Become a Nurse Entrepreneur
Many nurses are leaving the bedside for the world of entrepreneurship. A nurse entrepreneur may find her niche doing a variety of consultative, educational or technical works. The concept of entrepreneurship is not a new one. During the 1900s, nurses functioned independently and directly with the patient or family. It was only later that they moved into the hospital setting and became employees.

A nurse entrepreneur should possess qualities that are rather exemplary in order to stay long in the business. Not all nurses can combine business with their skills. You should be creative and independent. Be responsive to a perceived need or readiness to step into a void. You should be market focused with a good financial foresight. With the risks involved, be brave enough to face the possibility of success or failure. Grab the opportunity brought by change.
As with any job, there are benefits and drawbacks to becoming a nurse entrepreneur. The benefits include job satisfaction, flexibility in choosing opportunities and being able to do exactly what you want to do. Some of the downsides include tough competition, finding the right product or service to sell and providing for your own health insurance.
Before you can reach this stage in your life, a good nursing education is a must. Many colleges and universities offer wonderful nursing degree programs. Online nursing sites may be searched for more information. Recommended sites are:
