What You Can Do As a Nurse

People always say that nursing are for those who have high tolerance for blood since a lot of people who gets into an accident or gets injured normally needs a nurse’s help to assist them. The levels of nursing practice differ; therefore not all nurses can be of much help to those who are deeply injured.

The lowest among the levels of nursing practice is the certified nursing assistant. This position only guarantees basic care giving to patience. Doctors cannot give you orders therefore there is not much communication between you and the doctor. Certified nursing assistants have a limited task; they cannot even analyze the patient’s condition. All they can do is to give wash the patients, help them walk when they’re having trouble, turn the patient on the bed, prepare the patient’s bed, and other basic tasks which I guess you already have an idea.
Other nurses who have gone far in their studies of nursing get to be registered nurse by passing the nursing licensure exam. Usually those who are graduating in college get to take this exam since their knowledge and skills are more honed compared to those who just took a 2-month program of care giving. In this level of nursing practice, the registered nurses get to work with doctors. Doctors give orders and registered nurses are the ones who assist the doctors during operations like surgery, giving birth, etc.

The levels of nursing practice vary in relation to how long you are willing to hone your skills and knowledge.
