Study Guide for Nurse Practitioner (NP) ANCC or ACNP Exam

After a student has complete graduate-level coursework, they can become a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). In order to be an NP, the nurse is also a Registered Nurse and went through other advancements in certifications and specialties.

One of the major certification exams is the ANCC or ACNP tests. To properly study for the test, it is recommended to begin months in advance and use an established book. Also, days before the test, it is recommended that you buy the practice tests on the ANCC website which is worded more like the test.

NCLEX-RN Registered Nurse (RN) Study Guide

Registered Nurses have one of the most hands-on jobs in the nursing field with patient care. To become an RN, a nurse must obtain a license after completing a nursing program, and they vary by state. All nurses must pass the National Council Licensure Examination (CLEX-RN) in order to become a professional RN. It covers four categories, like physiological integrity, healthcare environment safety, psychosocial integrity, and health promotion.

The most recommended book is the Kaplan NCLEX-RN Strategies, Practice, and Review book. Nurses confess it was the hardest to study but most similar to the style of questions on the NCLEX-RN.

NCC Neonatal Nurse (NNP) Certification Study Guide

Neonatal nurses care for a child up to 28 days after delivery, if the baby is premature and unable to sustain itself healthily. They will usually handle 1-4 patients at a time, and do some medical procedures.

To become a Neonatal nurse (NNP) you must have a BSN and MSN degree, as well as be an RN. Then there is a certification exam, the NNC.
