Have a Doctorate Degree in Nursing
Nursing education is not limited to months or just a year, the farthest you can go in studying nursing is to take a doctorate degree in a specific field of nursing. However, it is not very simple to get there, there are some steps of education that you need to undergo before reaching the final stage which is to have a PhD.
Nursing education can start as simple as getting a diploma program. If you are seeking for the know-how care giving task of a nurse, then try having an AND or an Associate Degree in Nursing; students more or less graduate in about two and a half years or less. It’s a quick program and it’s sure to give you a head start on what nursing is about.
If you’re planning to learn more and have a bachelor’s degree in nursing, then I suggest you finish a four-year term in BS-Nursing. Look for the school that is known for giving a high-standard nursing education so that when you graduate you have an edge with the companies and hospitals you want to work with. Most BS-Nursing programs also offers the nursing licensure exam to their graduating nursing students so when they pass they will be registered nurses; this will allow them to work in hospitals as doctor’s assistant.
If you want to be an expert in a certain field of nursing, you should then take a masters degree because this will surely be beneficial if you’re aiming for a higher rank in your workplace. The highest education you can attain is to get the doctorate degree; take this after you finish your masters’ degree if you want to go farther with your education and rank.

The Better Alternative for Finishing a Nursing Degree: Go Online
There is a shortage of nurses in the United States these days and that is what’s driving people to take courses in line with health care or nursing. The University of Phoenix Online Nursing Programs are great opportunities for those who are considering pursuing their careers in the health care industry, or shifting from another field – without having to leave their current work.
There are several reasons why there is a shortage of nurses. The major ones include: aging population in the US, the aging population of nurses, and the shift from doctors to skilled nurses in terms of delivery of health care services.
What this points to is that there’s high demand and more opportunities for nurses to advance if they have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or something higher. Those who want to advance their careers and increase their salaries should complete their degrees. The problem for some is that their work schedule and budget do not allow them to go to the traditional schools.
That is where schools like the University of Phoenix (UoP) come in. This school started its online course offerings in 1989. The early Internet-based curricula offered by the UoP didn’t really get a lot of appreciation or consideration. Those days, the traditional campus degrees were the accepted means to complete a degree.
But soon as people realized how inconvenient it is to go from work to school mode every day, the online educational realm started to take shape to accommodate the growing niche market. Soon, people are enrolling and finishing their degrees without even sacrificing their time for their work during the day.

The Health Education System, Inc. or HESI have been giving exams to nursing students as a means to evaluate the current established nursing program. They assess the nursing students as to whether they are knowledgeable enough or are able to apply the different nursing concepts that are taught to them in certain situations.
There are different exams HESI provides: an Admissions exam to evaluate your chances of passing a nursing entrance exam, a custom exam to evaluate faculty specified nursing content, a specialty exam to evaluate specific clinical content, and the HESI Exit Exam that nursing students need to pass in order to become a qualified nurse.
The HESI Exit exam among all the tests given by the Health Education System, Inc. is by far the most important exam for any nursing students. The exam will evaluate whether you would be able to pass the NCLEX. Some hospitals would ask for your HESI Exit exam results if they would want to hire you in their staff so getting a good score in your exit exam is as important as taking the NCLEX.
Every nursing student must take the HESI Exit Exam as a pre-requisite before they graduate. Some schools do not allow any nursing students to graduate if they fail their HESI. A nursing student needs to prepare him or herself for the exam. The passing score of a HESI Exit exam differs with every school. So it is only wise for a student make sure that he or she is ready both physically and mentally to take the exam. Otherwise, it is advisable to take a break to mentally and physically prepare yourself for the exam.
